You’ll never be bored at this sprawling green space that also features walking paths for those who enjoy jogging or running competitive cross country style.

Columbia Park is a wonderful space for all sorts of athletic activities. The park includes six soccer fields, two baseball diamonds, and a roller hockey rink. In addition to these fantastic options for sports lovers there’s also an 1-mile long walking path which can be divided into 2 smaller paths: one west section at 0.75 miles (1km) in length and the other east section at just under half that distance. The Columbia Parks jog trail offers runners the chance to get some exercise while enjoying scenic views as it winds its way through beautiful woods around this terrific outdoor destination.

At the Community Garden, residents can plant vegetables and flowers to share with others who live in their neighborhood. The Home Gardening Learning Center provides helpful tips on how people of all ages can grow healthy foods from plants they’ve grown themselves or received as gifts; it also offers classes that teach visitors how to compost so food scraps don’t go into landfills where they emit dangerous methane gas.

De Portola Park

25615 Lazy Meadow Drive
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: 12.5
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond, reservations accepted
Basketball Court
Sand Volleyball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms

Delthorne Park

3401 Spencer Street
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 9.7
Handicapped Access
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Rubberized Fitness Course 0.5 mile
Restrooms

Descanso Park

2500 Descanso Way
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 3.0
Picnic Area
Softball Diamond
Children’s Play Equipment
.27 Mile Fitness Course; includes Exercise Stations
Handicapped Access

Discovery Park

22526 Ocean Ave.
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: .39
Children’s Play Equipment
Picnic Shelter
Barbecue
Universally Handicapped Accessible

El Nido Park

18301 Kingsdale Avenue
Redondo Beach, CA 90278
Facilities:
Acres: 4.8
Meeting Room, reservations accepted
Kitchen
Picnic Area, reservations accepted
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond, reservations accepted
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms
Handicapped Access

El Prado Park

El Prado Avenue – between Carson St. & Cravens Ave.
Torrance, CA 90501
Facilities:
Acres: 2.9
Passive park/ green belt
Centennial Plaza

Entradero Park

5500 Towers Street
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 26.5
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms
Adjacent to Entradero Sump
Home of West Torrance Little League

Greenwood Park

1520 Greenwood Avenue
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 3.4
Rooms, reservations accepted for meetings only
Kitchen
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Handicapped Access

Guenser Park

17800 Gramercy Place
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 7.8
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond, reservations accepted
Basketball Court
Horseshoe Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Fitness Course 0.3 mile
Restrooms

Hickory Park

2850 232nd Street
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 5.8
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Tennis Court
Sand Volleyball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms

La Carretera Park

2040 186th Street
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 3.1
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
La Paloma Park
Lomita Blvd. east of Anza
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: .4
Picnic Area
Barbecue
Children’s Swing Set

La Romeria Park

19501 Inglewood Avenue
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 6.6
Meeting Room, reservations accepted
Kitchen
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond, reservations accepted
Basketball Court
Tennis Court
Horseshoe Courts
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms
Handicapped Access

Lago Seco Park

3920 235th Street
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: 14.7
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Softball Diamond
Basketball Courts
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms
Home of the Riviera Little League
Community Gardens
Fitness Course

Los Arboles ‘Rocketship’ Park

5101 Calle de Ricardo
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: 6.3
Picnic Area
Children’s Play Equipment
Handicapped Access

Madrona Marsh Preserve

The Madrona Marsh Preserve is located in Torrance California. The city of Torrance is situated in the South Bay region of Southern California. Madrona Marsh Preserve is a seasonal wetland with vernal pools. The 43 acres was once an oil drilling site and one of few natural landscapes left within urban area. Formed when mountains rose to south Palos Verdes Peninsula eons ago; this shallow depression is fed by rainy season storms as “vernal” indicates (spring). After the spring season, water depth decreases about 1/4 inch per day due to evaporation.

Bird watchers and the Audubon society have been visiting Madrona Marsh for decades, but its popularity has increased over time. Ongoing efforts are restoring native plants including wildflowers to make it an even more attractive destination. Plantings may benefit local butterfly species such as the Palos Verdes blue that frequents this habitat in search of nectar and other resources. The area is popular with both birdwatchers and biology students who use it as a lab to study their favorite subjects outside in nature’s classroom.

The Madrona Marsh Nature Center is a wonderful nature center in Torrance and hosts many exciting, informative activities such as bird walks to see all the beautiful birds that come through. There are also interesting exhibits about marsh plants which can be very useful for those looking to get started landscaping their yards with native California plants.

McMaster Park

3624 Artesia Boulevard
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 5.5
Meeting Room, reservations accepted
Kitchen
Picnic Area
Softball Diamond, reservations accepted
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms
Adjacent to North Torrance Library
Access for Handicapped individuals

Miramar Park

201 Paseo de la Playa
Redondo Beach, 90277
Facilities:
Acres: 1.1
Scenic Ocean View
Wedding Ceremony Site, reservations required
Fido Fountain, Bike racks, steps with rails, dolphin memorial statue

Osage Park

17008 Osage Avenue
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 4.8
Picnic Area
Children’s Play Equipment
Handicapped Access

Paradise Park

5006 Lee Street
Torrance, CA 90503
Facilities:
Acres: 4.7
Picnic Area, reservations accepted
BBQ grills
Tennis Courts
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms

Pequeno Park

Regina Avenue and 180th Street
Torrance, CA 90504
Facilities:
Acres: 0.7
Picnic Area, reservations accepted
BBQ grills
Children’s Play Equipment
Handicapped Access

Pueblo Recreation Center

2252 Del Amo Boulevard
Torrance, CA 90501
Facilities:
Acres: 0.5
Meeting Rooms
Kitchen
Picnic Area
BBQ grills
Basketball Court
Children’s Play Equipment
Restrooms

Riviera Park

Bounded by Catalina Avenue and Palos Verdes Drive
Torrance, CA 90505
Facilities:
Acres: 0.3
Passive park
Small walkways and trails

Sea Aire Park

22730 Lupine Drive
Torrance, CA 90505
Golf Course Phone: (310) 316-9779
Acres: 5.2 includes golf course
Facilities:
Meeting Room, reservations accepted
Kitchen
Restrooms
Children’s Play Equipment
Sea Aire Golf Course:
Golf Course Hours & Urban parks include green areas that are set aside to be used for recreation within cities. You can also find country parks or national parks in your locality. The sub-national governments of the states and agencies that manage provincial and state parks as well as those in national parks, are responsible for their administration. You may find parks made up of rocks, soil, trees, and grassy areas. But, they may also have buildings, fountains, monuments, and other artifacts. Parks often have fields that can be used for football or baseball. There may also be paved areas to use for basketball. Parks often have paths for hiking, biking or other recreational activities. Many parks have a dock, beach, or are located next to rivers or bodies of water. Urban parks may have benches to sit on and include picnic tables or barbecue grills.

Some parks are vast areas with hundreds of thousand of square kilometers or miles of natural beauty, and abundant wildlife. A permit is required to camp in tents within large national parks. Many parks in nature are protected under law. Therefore, users will need to adhere to certain restrictions. Open fires are prohibited, as well as the use of glass bottles. A park ranger oversees large sub-national and national parks. Park rangers are usually assigned to large parks. They may be able to offer canoeing, hiking, or cross-country skiing, as well as snowshoeing, during the colder months. You can find amusement parks with live entertainments, fairground rides and refreshments as well as games of skill or chance.

More Information

MS Access Solutions
Torrance, California
(323)285-0939

Torrance California Parks Hours of Operation The 30 city parks in Torrance are maintained and administered by the Torrance City Parks Department.
